The pre-assessment helps you understand where you are before you start studying.
Before jumping into the content, you can take a 180-question pre-assessment covering 9 chapters. This helps you identify your strengths, weak areas, and the topics you need to focus on most.
Your scores will be saved in the system, and you can also write them in your book to track your progress. Don’t worry if your score is low, this is not a pass or fail test. It’s simply your starting point.
After you finish studying, you’ll take the post-assessment, which also includes 180 questions. This helps you measure how much progress you’ve made and compare your results to your pre-assessment score.
These assessments are not mandatory. You can skip them if you prefer, but we recommend completing them because they help you study with more direction and see how much you’ve improved.
Note: The pre-assessment and post-assessment are different from the mock exam. They are designed to help you track progress, while the mock exam is designed to simulate the exam experience.

Anyone writing the REx-PN® — the licensing exam for practical nurses registering in Ontario (CNO) and British Columbia (BCCNM). That includes new graduates, internationally educated nurses applying to either college, and nurses requalifying. All other provinces use the CPNRE, so if you're registering outside ON or BC, this isn't your exam.
